The International Centre, Telford 15th - 17th July 2019

Wheelchair Therapist

Location: Hanley, Stoke On Trent

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: Equivalent to NHS Agenda for Change Band 6

Organisation: Opcare

Opcare is a leading provider to the NHS for prosthetics, orthotics and wheelchair services which means we serve the needs of more than 75,000 users at just over 30 centres across the British Isles. Opcare is a core part of the Ability Matters Group (AMG) which is an established and growing international healthcare business with direct operations in Ireland, France and the Netherlands as well as the UK.

We are seeking enthusiastic occupational therapists or physiotherapists, looking to specialise in the posture and mobility sector (previous wheelchair experience is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided). Our therapy team look forward to welcoming new team members into this busy department and encouraging them to develop their skills further under the initial guidance of the Senior Wheelchair Therapist and Service Lead.

The role is located in purpose built premises in Stoke, providing excellent facilities for clients, carers and staff. We look to maximise the independence of our clients, enabling them to meet their full potential based on their personal circumstances.

The successful applicants will be part of a motivated, forward thinking, close, multidisciplinary team. They will be enthusiastic and demonstrate qualities to be part of a growing team. They will assist in service development and be open in their treatment approach in order to provide holistic patient intervention.

A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential, in order to meet the demands of the service. Our philosophy is to keep the patient at the heart of everything we do. We look for people who are willing to go the extra mile, not because they are asked to, but because they are committed to being part of a healthcare team that delivers an excellent, caring service to our patients.

Flexibility and adaptability is required. Applicants may be expected to travel between clinical and home appointments. Some clinics will take place in our secondary location near Cannock.

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of therapists who have a strong commitment to clinical and service development.

You must also be working towards/hold a degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and be registered with HCPC. All other relevant training and development will be provided for the successful applicant.

This role is working in a regulated activity and subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. Any conviction, cautions, reprimands or final warnings are not "protected" as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).

If you are interested in being considered for this role, please apply by emailing your CV with a covering letter to recruitment@abilitymatters.com.
