Harrow & Hillingdon Wheelchair Service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mobile Occupational Therapist to join our team.

Do you want a job that is challenging and fulfilling where there are plenty of opportunities for career development? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Wheelchair Therapist to join our team of therapists in the Harrow & Hillingdon Wheelchair Service.

The wheelchair service is delivered from our premises in Harrow Wealdstone, we are predominantly a clinic-based service but also see patients in other environments such as schools, hospitals, and their own home. We assess for and prescribe manual wheelchairs, active user wheelchairs and electric powered chairs, along with posture/pressure management and specialist seating systems. We provide a range of mobility and postural equipment to maximise the independence of our clients.

The successful candidate will provide assessment for and provision of wheelchairs, postural support and pressure management equipment to clients of all ages with a wide variety of medical conditions.

  • Driving ability - objectively measuring the capability to drive safely
  • Car adaptation - advising on controls, seating and vehicle access
  • Driving from a wheelchair and wheelchair accessible vehicles
  • Hi-tech solutions for those requiring specialised controls
  • Transfer and seating needs for adults or children, trial of equipment and advice on seating and posture including child car seat assessment
