Rehabilitation Engineer
The Rehabilitation Engineer (RE) Service is part of the Equipment and Technology Clinical Group within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust. Currently the service employs 25 rehabilitation engineers, working across the 12 wheelchair services within the West Midlands, and also the Regional Posture & Mobility Service.
The RE Service holds contracts with various wheelchair services within the West Midlands to supply trained and qualified rehabilitation engineers. The RE Service requires 2 qualified and registered rehabilitation engineers to fulfill the contracts held with wheelchair services within the West Midlands. We are advertising for a full-time post but would consider part-time working.
The candidate will need to be on the Register for Clinical Technologists or the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist, hold an HNC or equivalent (BSc/BEng or above preferred) in rehabilitation engineering or mechanical engineering. Significant relevant experience working in a wheelchair and seating service is essential. Leadership and organisational skills are essential for this post. We are looking for a flexible and professional attitude with the ability to meet any training requirements of the post. Teamwork, with medical and paramedical colleagues, is an important element of the role within the multi-disciplinary teams you will be asked to support. A full driving license is essential.
