Senior Rehabilitation Engineer
The Rehabilitation Engineer Service is part of the Equipment & Technology Clinical Group of the Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division and employs 25 rehabilitation engineers working across wheelchair services within the West Midlands and the Regional Posture & Mobility Service.
The service requires a Senior Rehabilitation Engineer who will be primarily based at Worcestershire Wheelchair Service but could also cover other wheelchair services. They will provide line management and supervision to band 6 rehabilitation engineers and trainee rehabilitation engineers. On a day-to-day basis, the person will prioritise the activities of the rehabilitation engineers and participate on the clinical delivery of the service.
The candidate will need to be on the Register for Clinical Technologists or the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist, hold an HNC or equivalent (BSc/BEng or above preferred) in a rehabilitation engineering or mechanical engineering. Significant relevant experience working in a wheelchair and seating service is essential. Leadership and organisational skills are essential for this post. We are looking for a flexible and professional attitude with the ability meet any training requirements of the post. Teamwork, with medical and paramedical colleagues, is an important element of the role within the multi-disciplinary teams you will be asked to support. A full driving license is essential.
